Youth Pastor

Pastor Tim is the Youth Pastor at First Baptist in Cokato, and now at Dassel Covenant. Pastor Tim will be joining us for Worship the last Sunday of every month.
Hello Dassel Covenant. My name is Tim Roemer; I am 29 years old and live here in Dassel. I am a very laid-back person and enjoy finding the humor that daily life has to offer. I have many hobbies and intreats, such as all sports; I used to coach football, wrestling, and pole vaulting for track. I love the outdoors, such as fishing, spearfishing in the winter, and camping in the BWCA. I often spend time with my brothers, either weight training or watching a movie. My most frequent hobby is going to the range and target shooting. Although I enjoy all those hobbies, the biggest passion in my life is my relationship with God and the ministry He has called me into.
Nothing in my life comes close to my commitment to God, and I feel that I am called to work with youth. I have been the youth Pastor at the First Baptist Church since 2017. Before
that, I worked at the Village Ranch, a teen boys' treatment facility for troubled youth in Cokato. I worked there for 4 years in multiple roles such as House Staff, Lead Staff, and lastly, a new
position made for me called in-house skills where I was the youth pastor at the facility. Over these years, I have continued to learn from diligently studying scripture and the life experiences God has brought me through. I consider ministry one of the greatest blessings God has allowed me to experience. Originally my family is from the Annandale area, but we moved
down to Missouri in 2005 for my dad to take a youth pastor job down in Harrisonville. I grew up in youth ministry and always helped my dad with the youth group. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at around 6 years old at Camp Shamineau. However, it wasn't until 2006 that I took ownership of my faith and pursued God myself. I still remember the moment when I dedicated my life to knowing God as personally as possible and living a life that was entirely focused on bringing Him the glory He deserves. That decision and the continued pursuit of that choice have led me to where I am today. I am constantly amazed and humbled by what the Lord has done in my life and that He chooses to use a vessel like me to bring Him glory. I do not know what God has planned for my future, but I have learned not to worry about that. Instead, I trust Him to take care of that as I focus on just being obedient to take the next step He calls me to; as long as I can do that, He will be faithful to bring me to where He wants me, which is my goal in life.
