Leading People to a Transforming Relationship with Jesus Christ

Dear Friends,
Please take some time and read the article (linked below) from Mark Stromberg, Superintendent of the Northwest Conference.
The article is “Spirit of unity: A word from the Superintendent on COVID-19”
https://www.northwestconference.org/spirit-of-unity-a-word-from-the-superintendent-on-covid-19/

Dear Church Family –
During this time we want you to stay connected, even though we may not see each other as much as we like.  The temptation is going to withdraw, watch TV, spend to much time on Social Media … etc.  But…
We are people of hope and faith, not people of fear; nevertheless we understand that there may be some of us who are experiencing fear because we are human beings- thus we show grace and compassion.
We are people of prayer, not people of panic- thus we go about with a spirit of seeking God and knowing that He is with us; nevertheless, there are common sense approaches that we should take during this time.
We are people of love and mercy, not people of selfishness and greed – thus we share our resources with others who may being doing with out, trusting that God blessed us so that we could be a blessing.

It is important during a time such as this to use it as an opportunity to draw closer to God and others (although we may not be physically present as much a normal).
  • Take time to read your Bible during this time.  Spend quality time with Jesus.
  • Pray through the day.  Pray for the world, our country, and those seeking a cure.
  • Pray for the elderly and more vulnerable.
  • Pray for family and friends
  • Pray for those workers displaced and/or without an income.
  • Pray for people to turn to Christ and to come to faith in Him.
  • Take time to worship by song.  Radio and online.
  • Phone a family member, a friend…
  • Phone a church member and pray for them.
  • Email or text a message of hope to another daily.
  • Read a good book.
  • Play a game with a family member.
  • If healthy, make a meal for a neighbor.
  • Share what God is doing in your life with another person via the many social media resources.
  • Be creative.
We are the church.  The hands and feet of Jesus.  We can be the light and salt of this world during what feels like a dark and trying time.  Amen.
